Sulwhasoo Flagship Store
The Sulwhasoo flagship store building, designed by Korean architect Iroje in 2003, is an exclusive space in Seoul that encapsulates the essence of Asian beauty and wisdom. The interior design project developed by the Neri&Hu studio in 2016, radically transforming the existing five floors, intensifies the light that radiates from this place and celebrates the brand's roots by connecting visitors to Asian culture and traditions through the symbolically charged concept of the "lantern". The holistic approach to the notion of the lantern, from the conception of the space to the lighting, encourages one to explore each of the areas and be amazed.
Neri&Hu, founded by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, manages to awaken all the senses and invites you to admire nature while feeling the breeze from the outdoor spaces, equipped with the JIAN collection designed by them for GANDIABLASCO. The building is crowned by a rooftop where a canopy with a free-flowing brass structure stands out, framing the impressive panoramic views of the city.
Balance, sobriety and timelessness are the qualities that best describe JIAN, the collection designed by the Neri&Hu studio for GANDIABLASCO. The ethereal design pieces of this outdoor furniture system, which combine aesthetics and functionality, are inspired by the Chinese character jian (between), which in turn is one of the two that form the words "space-time and people". In Sulwhasoo's installations, JIAN is translated as an object in a contemporary design work that embodies functional aesthetics in outdoor furniture. In this sanctuary of peace away from the daily hustle and bustle of the city, the designer sofas, modules and tables made of welded thermo-lacquered aluminium profiles are extremely versatile and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
