ONDE wine red in indoor and outdoor environments

October 24, 2022 | Collections /

Designed by Luca Nichetto, it embodies the dichotomy of the current Stockholm-based but Venice-born creator: the Scandinavian functionality combined with the warmth and meticulousness that characterise Italian design. With ONDE, Nichetto proposes hybrid indoor-outdoor environments with a distinct architectural character. They have conquered the dreamlike space of Xavier Corberó’s at-home workshop. The fact is that “the relationship between product and environment is very important, and that is why architecture and design are so closely related”.

The original labyrinthine construction, situated in Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona) and characterised by its now iconic arches, courtyards and interconnected rooms, it blurs the limits between the gallery that exhibits the works of the sculptor, who premonitorily declared in an interview with The Wall Street Journal “I like things to look as if they have always been there”, and the home. ONDE falls into this double-dealing dressed in a colour which was traditionally destined for interior furnishings: Wine Red.

Like a good glass of wine which can be enjoyed anywhere, from the terrace to living room, ONDE is a collection that, in addition to being originally designed for outdoors, fits easily with the decoration of any room in the home. The colour Wine Red, has traditionally been used as a dye for both fabric and leather, it achieves a surprising effect on the outdoor upholstery. While the structure, a welded and thermo-lacquered corrugated aluminium sheet, can either offer a uniform background in the same tone or a contrast with the special copper-coloured finish on the legs.

ONDE: vanguard and atemporality in every element

Luca Nichetto has studied our catalogue in great depth to adapt to the changes in the outdoor furniture market and how people are using outdoor furniture. By opting for the use of aluminium, the brand’s material obsession that goes beyond the boundaries of space and breaks the mould with a modern design which is destined to last over time.

The ONDE structure is responsible for providing a well-defined personality, and is also capable of adapting to all types of environments. Every piece in the collection is composed of a structure manufactured using semi-industrial processes with welded aluminium and corrugated aluminium sheets obtained via stamping. On it, in sofas and lounge chairs are placed cushions that transmit that inherent warmth of indoor furniture, achieving a hybrid piece. They are composed of a foam-rubber base and a top filling blended by Triafill microfibres –soft, fresh and breathable–. Covered with the essential water-repellent fabric for outdoor use only, as well as with fully removable covers.

On the other hand, the tops of various types of coffee tables, both circular and square ones, as well as of the ONDE high table, are all made of Dekton® by Cosentino. A material that is highly resistant to stains and chemical products, and whose colour does not tarnish over time.
