GANDIABLASCO lounge spaces in three unique projects near the water

In contemporary architecture, swimming pools acquire an abstract meaning that goes beyond their practical function as spaces for relaxation and fun. They represent architectural elements with their own entity, capable of playing symbolic roles in design and spatial experience.

Our GANDIABLASCO and Diabla outdoor furniture collections are proposed as authentic generators of spaces that, in dialogue with swimming pools, foster a connection with the natural environment and the surrounding landscape. When carefully integrated into a project or outdoor space, design environments next to these refreshing oases create a smooth transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, acting as a meeting point between the built atmosphere and nature.
In a tour of contract projects with swimming pools in which the GANDIABLASCO and Diabla collections enter the scene, we visit Castillon-du-Gard, Le Marche and Bangkok, three destinations with their own identity and attractions that make them unique, from historical heritage to natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
Lujo y bienestar en la Provenza
At the Hotel Le Vieux Castillon in Castillon-du-Gard, located in a medieval village in the south of France, the swimming pool becomes an escape and retreat from the hectic pace. The interior of the boutique hotel houses 33 rooms designed by Parisian interior architect Natasha Megret, who tastefully and sensitively combines a natural color palette of white, brown, and caramel, in harmony with the exposed medieval stone fragments in many of the rooms.
The castle awaits a magical refuge surrounded by medieval walls, the outdoor area equipped with GANDIABLASCO’s outdoor collections. With the outdoor loungers we create a space for lounging by the pool, while with LIPSTICK armchairs and tables, by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales for Diabla, owe offer a casual place to sit and read or drink coffee immersed in this idyllic atmosphere. Made of polyethylene exclusively from recycled sources, they are lightweight, easy to maintain, and durable due to their high resistance to weathering and corrosion.
On the other side of the pool, GANDIABLASCO’s iconic DAYBED also by designer José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, is perfect for lounging out of the sun. This daybed raised 60 cm off the ground with an anodized or thermo-lacquered aluminum frame, movable Soltis plastic fabric canvases, reclining backrest, cushions, and mattress pads filled with polyurethane foam rubber covered with water-repellent fabric, and removable upholstery available in various finishes and colors, embodies the convergence between practical functionality and contemporary aesthetics, challenging the conventional limits of outdoor furniture design.

Surrounded by beautiful gardens, patios, and terraces, the 356 sun loungers by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales and Pablo Gironés invite us to sunbathe partially submerged in the pool. With their refined style and sensual lines that elegantly fit the body, they are perfect for being in contact with water thanks to the 100% recyclable polyethylene produced by rotational molding.
Between tradition and modernity in an undiscovered Italy
Swimming pools can be interpreted as sculptural elements of artistic expression in architecture. Their design, shape and materiality can be used to create striking visual compositions, adding an aesthetic dimension to the built environment. Pools thus become elements that enhance the beauty of a space, creating an aesthetically and emotionally enriching experience. This is the case of Casa Olivi, a contract project in central Italy that has counted with our collaboration at GANDIABLASCO.
The heart of Le Marche, an hour from the Adriatic coast, is home to an old 19th century farmhouse renovated with a unique sensibility. Swiss architects Markus Wespi and Jérôme de Meuron have transformed the interior spaces of this stone house – protected by Italy’s Cultural and Historical Heritage – with designer furniture in natural colors and white walls to reflect the scarce natural light that enters through the nineteenth-century windows. The villa is a mix of tradition, modernity and contemporary design, with pieces by Vitra, Cassina, José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales and Philippe Stark, among others.

At the edge of the outdoor spaces is an infinity pool that merges with the horizon of the Adriatic Sea. In this setting enriched by the presence of a century-old olive tree, Diabla’s 356 collection is once again chosen to become a testimony to the harmonious dialogue between the human essence and the surrounding nature. Carefully placed designer armchairs and tables provide the perfect space to enjoy an aperitif, while sun loungers from the same collection provide the idyllic setting for relaxing by the pool, surrounded by the beauty of the olive trees. In this choreography of pieces that dialogue in harmony, a subtle connection to the rural architecture and exquisite interior design of Casa Olivi is revealed.
Two GANDIABLASCO icons at The Bangkok Thonglor
Two of the outdoor furniture collections that most genuinely express the Mediterranean and architectural character of our brand -FLAT and TIMELESS- travel to the capital of Thailand. The Bangkok Thonglor, designed by Landscape Architects 49 Limited, translates in its design the exclusivity of the area where it is located: a vibrant and cosmopolitan city. With 31 floors and close to 150 apartments, it stands out for its wraparound glass façade, which integrates it into the urban space with a play of transparencies and reflections depending on the incidence of light. The upper floors have been conceived as a luxurious communal facility for residents, who can enjoy the swimming pool and solarium located on an open vantage point, and offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Bangkok skyline and sky.
The large terrace has been furnished with one of the most representative series of our GANDIABLASCO catalog: FLAT, an original design by Mario Ruiz. The collection’s outdoor loungers, designer sofas and tables with their lightweight white thermo-lacquered aluminum structure, create the perfect setting for relaxing by the infinity pool, thirty stories high. FLAT’s balance and flexibility have made it a new classic of internationally successful outdoor furniture. Comfort is provided by a variety of designer cushions made from custom polyurethane foam rubber.
FLAT chaise lounges and club armchairs
TIMELESS, an original design by José Gandía-Blasco and Borja García, stars in the landscaped common areas on the lower floors of the building. The outdoor sofas, presented here with white aluminum profiles, teak armrests and anthracite gray cushions, prioritize comfort and blend harmoniously into their surroundings. Its classic and clean formal language conveys the idea it originated. Its formal style conveys the main idea of the collection: permanence over time, both for the strength of the design and its materials and for its discreet, elegant and timeless appearance.
TIMELESS sofas & coffee table
In this exquisite tour of extraordinary pools, from Provence to Italy and Bangkok, GANDIABLASCO and Diabla’s outdoor designs establish a sensory dialogue with the landscape and present themselves as true generators of spaces to enjoy. An invitation to immerse ourselves in the experience of inhabiting space in harmony with our surroundings.
