Our Mediterranean style blends gently with the Atlantic breeze, in the same way that the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces are blurred in all corners of Villa R, located in Rabat. Villa R is one of GANDIABLASCO's contract projects in northern Morocco.
This 900 square meter residential project, designed by Gregoire Maisondieu, has three levels. Everything in this home was designed for living in connection with the outdoors, as the climate of the coastal capital in which it is located makes it possible to enjoy mild temperatures all year round. The areas designed with elements of the iconic DNA and FLAT outdoor furniture collections fit with the concepts of continuity and fluidity that are apparent throughout the space.
The Mediterranean meets the Atlantic through the grey, textured Tetuan stone that clads the walls of the ground floor. With the same colour and warm touch, the fabric of the designer loungers and the GANDIABLASCO outdoor sofas invite you to sit back and relax amidst greenery, wood, water and minerals.
At front of the swimming pool, which extends so far under the covered terrace that it almost reaches the living room, there are spacious outdoor loungers from the DNA outdoor furniture collection, an original design by José A. Gandía-Blasco made of white thermo-lacquered aluminum frames. On the structure, whose slats recreate the lights and shadows of the horizontal designs present in the work of various Japanese architects and in Mediterranean shutters, rest cushions and mattresses filled with polyurethane foam rubber covered with special water-repellent fabric. These outdoor daybeds can be easily moved to create comfortable and cozy places of well-being.
The wide canopy covers the dining area whilst huge windows can be opened to get rid of any boundary that may exist between inside and outside. The obsession for visual continuity and the refined, unassuming style of the design materializes in the living room, which features the FLAT collection of designer furniture, an original design by Mario Ruiz for GANDIABLASCO. The large veranda is transformed into a versatile living room surrounded by modular designer sofas in white thermo-lacquered aluminum. A tone that echoes the luminous cladding that covers the exterior structure confirms the importance dedicated to the bedrooms on the upper floor. The simple and elegant FLAT outdoor modules reinterpret classic outdoor furniture sets through contemporary materials and an innovative formal concept.
This modern family residence in the beautiful city of Rabat on the northern coast of Africa is an example of indoor/outdoor architecture, an attractive setting for a GANDIABLASCO environment, designed for shared experiences and moments of intimacy in connection with the outdoors.
