2024: A Year of Recognition for Our Artistic Creativity and Innovative Designs

As every year, we look back to reflect on the most relevant and outstanding moments for us. In 2024, the three Gandía Blasco Group brands were recognized with several awards and honorable mentions in national and international competitions. What has excited us the most is that it has been precisely some of our most artistic, expressive, and innovative designs that have caught the attention of the experts who evaluated the proposals.

The Best of Year Awards highlighted the sustainable and aesthetic value of three of our 2024 novelties: the LA GERIA-LANZAROTE rug collection and the LINES collection received an Honoree, both in the Residential Rug category, while the NOMAD collection was the winner in the Environmental Impact category.

2024 Best of Year Winner. NOMAD collection

NOMAD by Alejandra Gandía-Blasco

Inspired by the minimal belongings of nomadic peoples, the Nomad collection allows users to create ephemeral spaces that offer a sense of home and rest. Designed by our creative and communications director, Alejandra Gandía-Blasco Lloret, Nomad is the essence of GAN Spaces in its purest form. With its rugs, poufs, and cushions, you can create relaxed and informal environments, as well as structure spaces both indoors and outdoors. The fabrics are based on indigenous Indian warps and wefts, used during GAN’s research to test how recycled PET fibers behave on different handlooms.

LINES by Mayice

Our Lines rug collection, designed by Mayice for GAN, not only received an Honoree at the Best of Year Awards but was also recognized with an award in the Decor category at the Archiproducts Design Awards. This design represents the pinnacle of our efforts to fuse craftsmanship and contemporary creation, integrating important concepts such as the valorization of natural wool, the application of artisanal techniques to create an innovative design, and the proposal of new formats and aesthetics for contemporary spaces

LINES collection

Lines is a collection of long-fiber, undyed rugs rugs that seeks to showcase wool in all its essence and splendor. Its long-haired surfaces, with carefully crafted directional changes executed on the handlooms of our artisans in India, offer a tactile experience, as if running your hand along a sheep’s back. Its irregular format is designed to allow multiple models to be joined together to create linear compositions.

LINES collection

LA GERIA-LANZAROTE by José A. Gandía-Blasco

Our La Geria-Lanzarote rugs also received Honoree Mentions at both the Best of Year Awards and the NYCxDesign Awards. Designed by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, our president, these rugs pay homage to the unique viticulture of La Geria, whose artisanal process aligns with GAN’s essence. The dramatic landscape of these vineyards, nestled in a volcanic gravel basin and protected by semicircular stone walls, inspired José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales to create rugs that reproduce this unique landscape using the hand-tufted technique, which allows for the creation of different volumes within a single piece.

LA GERIA-LANZAROTE collection

CACAO by Odosdesign

In Spain the CACAO chaise lounge, designed by Odosdesign for Diabla, has been awarded a Premio Plata – Silver Prize -in the Outdoor Furniture Product Design category at the annual ceremony of Valencia Designers Association ADCV. The Cacao chaise lounge is a bold and expressive piece, inspired by the ridges of a chocolate bar. Its inflatable cushion can be used in the water, but can also be transformed into a comfortable lounger when placed on its frame.

Additionally, when placed on its frame, its folds, which are intended to simulate upholstery, are reminiscent of the classic Barcelona daybed by Mies van der Rohe. So, its striking and fun aesthetic for the outdoors becomes even more original when placed indoors.

IRIS by Alejandra Gandía-Blasco

Our IRIS tables collection, designed by Alejandra Gandía-Blasco Lloret for GANDIABLASCO, received multiple accolades in 2024, including a finalist position in the Archiproducts Design Awards and Honorable Mentions at both the DNA Paris Design Awards and the NYCxDesign Awards.

This design stands out for its artistic nature, born from Alejandra Gandía-Blasco Lloret’s ongoing exploration of color through photography. Since 2015, she has been capturing stunning images of sunrises and sunsets, which she then transforms into vibrant, vitrified glass tabletops.

GBMODULAR by José A. Gandía-Blasco

Furthermore, the GBMODULAR collection for GANDIABLASCO, designed by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, received an Honorable Mention at the NYCxDesign Awards. We are immensely proud that the innovative nature of this collection’s construction system has been recognized in this way, as GBModular embodies the essence and identity of GANDIABLASCO.

Based on a single aluminum profile and using an ingenious hidden clip system, this modular system can be used to create a wide variety of furniture, from seating and tables to shelves, sideboards, and even accessories like mirrors. The purity of materials and the simplicity of its design represent the values and the understated, sophisticated, and elegant aesthetic that have always been the inspiration and reference for GANDIABLASCO.
