We at Gandia Blasco Group are celebrating at the end of this year. The newest designs of our brands have been recognized in all kinds of international awards, asserting worldwide the passion for creating open environments and inhabiting outdoor spaces through various creative and expressive paths.

Archiproducts Design Awards – Best of Year Awards 2023

Last April, the Archiproducts Design Awards recognized the new creations of GAN. Giro, by MUT Design, won the top award in the Decor category in its Peach version. The homage to the artist within each of us, using the hand-tufting technique, creates a graphic play reminiscent of Op-Art.

Meanwhile, the new Mangas Outdoor collection by Patricia Urquiola has been recognized in the new Sustainability category, paying tribute to products worldwide that have stood out for the use of recyclable and biodegradable materials, production techniques that reduce polluting emissions, and minimal environmental impact throughout the product’s life cycle.

Mangas Outdoor embodies sustainability through its careful design and material choices. The series actively promotes the circular economy by using 100% recycled PET for its outdoor rugs and accessories, giving a second life to plastic bottles and reducing plastic waste.

Both collections have also been awarded the Best of Year Awards 2023 by Interior Design Magazine: Mangas Outdoor in the Outdoor Furniture category, while the GIRO collection has received top recognition in the Residential rugs+carpets section.

The Sunset rug, transforming one of Alejandra Gandía-Blasco’s artworks into a contemporary craft piece, hand-knotted using the ancient hand-knotted technique, has also been recognized as a finalist in both the Archiproducts Design Awards and this year’s Best of Year Awards.

Wallpaper* Design Awards

ONSEN collection by Francesco Meda and David Quincoces, simple and able to blend well with diverse environments and developed “with the intention of conveying calm, as in Japanese architecture”, was chosen in the Wallpaper* Design Awards as one of the best outdoor lounge proposals of 2023. As the designers explain, “We were inspired by rationality, geometric and elemental forms that do not need heavy decoration.”

The Wallpaper*Design Awards recognize professionals, places, and products that are generating the most excitement in the global scene of design, architecture, art, and fashion.

Best of Year Awards

In the recent Best of Year Awards gala, IRIS and ERNO collections by Alejandra Gandía-Blasco were honored in their respective categories: Residential Table Collection and Contract Lounge Collection.

The Iris collection side tables applies the color study of the works created by the same designer, translating it to tempered glass tops suitable for outdoor use. Twelve different designs complement all the outdoor furniture collections of GANDIABLASCO in various heights and finishes.

Erno is recognized for its versatility in configuring outdoor and indoor spaces. The tribute to the Hungarian sculptor, architect, and designer Erno Rubik is a collection of modular poufs upholstered with padded grid fabric that joins together to create different seating systems. The series is completed with elements identical to the poufs but taller, which act as arms and backs and, in addition to providing comfort, multiply possibilities in terms of configuring environments.

Oro ADG Laus 2023 – ADC*E Awards

Last but not least, the Diabla website has also received recognition nationally and in Europe for its interactive and dynamic design. It has won a Gold ADG Laus 2023 in the Website category, as a non-transactional page. And also, at the ADC*E Awards, it has received a Silver in the Interactive & Mobile category.

These recognitions serve us to celebrate a 2024 with the enthusiasm and firm intention of valuing outdoor spaces and the undeniable value of contemporary design and craftsmanship for sustainability in materials and processes. It also reflects the eagerness to create open environments and inhabit indoor and outdoor spaces through various creative and expressive paths towards environmental respect.
