Balneario Vichy Catalán

In Caldes de Malavella you will find a building built with a combination of neo-Mudejar style and Modernist charm. The Hotel Balneario Vichy Catalan is renowned for its accommodation and spa facilities as well as for its extensive 20,000 square metre gardens and its architecture, which dates back to the end of the 19th century and has earned it a place on the Architectural Heritage Inventory of Catalonia. The Hotel Balneario Vichy Catalan is one of the Gandia Blasco Group's contract projects in Girona (Spain).

In recent years, the establishment has undergone various refurbishments, including the new outdoor swimming pool, which is heated (using solar panels) and efficient (thanks to techniques such as rainwater renewal). This facility evokes its origins by drawing inspiration from the ‘Indianos’ who were the driving force behind its construction. To furnish the outdoor spaces surrounding the pool areas, born of Vichy Catalan Corporation's commitment to people's health and wellbeing, we have provided outdoor furniture designs such as the DAYBED garden beds, an original design by José A. Gandía-Blasco for GANDIABLASCO. Using thermo-lacquered aluminium structures, mattresses upholstered in special fabrics for outdoor use and mobile Soltis plastic fabric tarpaulins, we turned them into bubbles perfectly prepared for enjoying outdoor life in the Mediterranean.

The hotel's spa experience includes lateral water canals on which we incorporated GANDIABLASCO's contemporary design Balinese DAYBEDS. These elevated lounging elements, in finishes where we combine sand and light grey tones to integrate them into the surroundings, balance the perfect dose of comfort and privacy in the open air all year round.
