How does our Mediterranean lifestyle influence the appreciation for nature?

I believe that our Mediterranean lifestyle promotes the respect for nature, as it allows us to spend more time outdoors. We seek to enjoy nature in the most pleasant and aesthetically mindful way, maintaining a respectful attitude to the environment.

What is the role of furniture in this context, particularly concerning the preservation of the natural environment?

We strive to edit and design furniture with the least environmental impact possible, always seeking to work with recyclable or recycled materials and long life in the case of aluminium, our fetish material. With the construction system that I designed, GBMODULAR, the reduction of excess material during the furniture manufacturing process is 0%.

How does biophilia influence the design identity of Gandia Blasco Group?

As lovers of animals and nature in general, we aim to ensure that all our designs contribute to the preservation of both, being respectful and facilitating a connection with them.

Do you think CGi art is underrated, and its relevance in creating visual scenes and immersive experiences to communicate environmentally responsible projects is not yet sufficiently recognized?

Without a doubt, I believe that is the case. It still needs time to be fully assimilated, and there is room for improvement in the overall quality of the work, in my opinion. It’s a matter of time. Similar situations occurred with photography, which is still not as recognized as painting, for example.

Biophilia: Trend, way of life, or unwavering principle?

It is an unbreakable principle, a reflection of the deep bond we have with nature, which is our greatest teacher, it is God. It teaches us to associate what is valuable with what is natural, with what is simple. It is a source of gold for a creator.

How do you see the collaboration between CGi creators and design companies to promote tangible proposals and spaces that respect vital processes and nature as a whole?

It’s a way of honoring life. CGi artists bring a unique vision to visualize and experiment with ideas that might be unconventional but, at the same time, help break the rigid social frameworks we live in. For every artist inspired by nature, we’re taking one more step toward this connection that’ll gradually bring us closer to a more conscious civilization.

Why do you think it’s necessary to advance the legitimization and dignification of the work of furniture brands and designers?

It’s crucial in a world where digital creation and 3D reproduction are blurring the boundaries of intellectual property. Thousands of brands and designers see their original creations replicated in 3D and marketed without consent, not just causing economic loss but also harming their reputation and recognition.

Brands should know at all times what’s happening with their product in the virtual world. To me, it should be a right. Legitimizing and formalizing the virtual universe of a brand or designer is a sign of respect and appreciation for the original work.

What are the biggest opportunities and challenges facing the CGI visualization industry today?

We’re stepping into the era of AI, something fascinating in the short and medium term. One of the significant challenges CGi creators face is the chance to create more inspiring and realistic works. With more support and encouragement, our emotional experiences in creating will be more satisfying and enjoyable.

However, these advances also present significant challenges, like the need to strike a balance between technological innovation and environmental sustainability, and ethical responsibility in creating digital realities that impact our perception of the world.
