The beauty of integrating nature into architectural spaces

Valencia has once again taken center stage as the epicenter of Mediterranean design and lifestyle with the celebration of the fifth edition of “Night in the Museum Garden”. Through this intervention, we establish a powerful link between cultural heritage, history, and contemporary creation in a unique setting, presenting innovation in outdoor spaces through the fusion of landscaping, lighting, sculpture, and furniture design. We thus offer our vision of the industry, which is none other than one that connects tradition with the future.

Nature and contemporary design center stage

The fifth edition of “Night in the Museum Garden” took place last Monday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m. with a very special opening evening at the iconic Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia. This exhibition project, which will remain open to the general public until October 18 (from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday), materialized as an ephemeral installation that transforms two of the main courtyards of Spain’s second most important art gallery into a garden.

We joined forces with the brands Neolith, LZF and Greenarea to transform the museum’s green spaces. This collaboration focused on the integration of nature into architecture and the value of materials, inviting attendees to reflect on the relationship between the built environment and vegetation through an interactive and immersive tour.

The concept behind the proposal was inspired by the elegance of the Les Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, an icon of medieval illustration rescued by Romanticism as a symbol of identity and mystery. This aesthetic, spanning from the time of James I to late Gothic, came to life in a detailed audiovisual animation where vegetation invades architectural forms, dialoguing with the romantic vision of organic triumph over inhabited space.

As the plants took over the environment, preserved plant creations by Greenarea, lighting by LZF, sculptures by Neolith, outdoor furniture collections by GANDIABLASCO, and handcrafted rugs by GAN were harmoniously revealed. The intervention generated a captivating dialogue between light, stone, vegetation, and textile textures, emphasizing the value of beauty and creativity within a heritage framework.

We sincerely express our gratitude to the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia for its collaboration, as well as for the cocktail served during the event -offered by Palanca Carnissers, Jamones Maño, and Vaqueta Gastromercat (from the Central Market), alongside Turia and Bodegas Gandia- and to all attendees for joining us on such a special evening.
