“BUIT means vacuum in Valencian, fitting because we thought of it as an ultra-light aluminium mesh that could be a carpet or, by deforming it, a sofa, a chaise, a table … from the beginning it was thought that this mesh would be intertwined with textile, generating a contrast between materials: the cold of the aluminium and the warmth of the textile. BUIT responds to the essence and DNA of the Gandia Blasco Group, the aluminium and textiles that have been present since its origins in 1941. We believe that this collection represents its history. ”

Design and R&D. BUIT is Mayice Studio’s collection for GANDIABLASCO. The BUIT coffee table is an outdoor table made with welded aluminium mesh, available in all the brand’s powder-coated finishes. Its density and grid spacing is carefully calculated: less thickness in the mesh would cause the piece to not function properly. The result is a very light and handy designer table, the hollow effect of its structure gives it a floating-over-the-ground look.

BUIT provides visual lightness. Being a molded aluminium sheet, the visual impact on the space is less than that of other volumetric furniture. It is easy to combine and integrate into spaces. It is ultralight: the mesh allows water to disappear very quickly and dust does not settle.
