The BUIT collection, designed by Mayice for GANDIABLASCO, successfully synthesises the company’s long history of textile innovation and outdoor furniture design into a concept where the past and absolute respect for tradition merge with the avant-garde choice and use of materials. The Madrid-based multidisciplinary studio, founded by Marta Alonso Yebra and Imanol Calderón Elósegui, drew inspiration from the brand’s history and values to ultimate arrive at an aesthetic and functional solution—as sculptural as it is pragmatic—that reflects its creators’ passion for material experimentation.

BUIT, meaning ’empty’ in Valencian, is based on a curved aluminium mesh that forms a sinuous armchair and a pouf/side table. The hardness and cool temperature of the aluminium contrast with the warmth and comfort of the textile component, for which Mayice and GANDIABLASCO carried out extensive R&D in collaboration with Kvadrat Febrik.
