GANDIABLASCO celebrates New York’s Design Week

In summing up the 30th edition of the ICFF it could not have been a more positive experience for GANDIABLASCO: two new collections were presented, TIMELESS and SOLANAS, the latter was nominated for a NYCxDesign award sponsored by the prestigious magazine Interior Design; a glamorous party was celebrated within the refurbished SoHo showroom inspired by different tones of pink, that featured delicate floral arrangements, rosé wine and live music; accompanied by the warm reception given to the new GANDIABLASCO products and other GAN designs, one of its subsidiary brands. All we can do is say a big thank you for all its help!

The most important high-end furniture design event in North America, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) comes to a close, another year when GANDIABLASCO made a strong impression. Yet again there was huge interest shown in its stand at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center as well as a record breaking attendance at the private party held at our showroom the night of May 19th during the ICFF.

This year the theme of the party was a “rose garden” where neutral and elegant pale pink and sage green tones set the scene. Hors d’oeuvres, cava and rosé wine were served, a live Dj was on hand and for another year running VIBIA created a moody lighting ambience with its designer lamps.

Guests were given the chance to try out the TIMELESS pouf, a piece from the very elegant outdoor furniture collection designed by architect Borja García and president of GANDIABLASCO, José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales. And the inspiration for TIMELESS? The rational style architecture of the beginnings of the 20th C. The table from the collection, a design reduced to almost pure structure, was also on display. TIMELESS which was launched less than a month ago at Milan is made from powder-coated soldered aluminium with a teak wood finish.

The showroom was also the scenario for an exhibition of the SOLANAS collection modular seating, the first collection of outdoor furniture manufactured using the innovative ultra-compact surface Dekton® by Cosentino. Argentinean architect and designer Daniel Germani is the author of this collection that was nominated for a NYCxDesign within the Seating Outdoor category.

Not forgetting the Indian bed with which Patricia Urquiola has extended her GARDEN LAYERS outdoor furniture collection for GAN, which was also on display and of course LAN, the new and revolutionary GAN SPACE designed by Neri&Hu.
