San Francisco, a city that is home to innovators and counter culture creatives, was recently the venue for the second edition of “GAN workshop”. The event took place at the Two Furnish space, a firm specializing in interior design for corporate projects.
The GAN workshop gives a chance to designers to get familiar with the techniques and materials that make up our handmade collections, and to give it a try themselves at creating something unique.
GAN, the indoor brand of GANDIABLASCO, was represented in San Francisco by one of its main designers, Charlotte Lancelot. The Belgian designer explained the creative and technical process behind her two collections of rugs, low tables, ottomans and pillows, and held a workshop afterwards in which over 100 designer guests had the opportunity to create their own designs.
The CANEVAS collection is defined by its pattern of embroidered yarn over a wool base, which provides the ideal framework for creating art applied to day to day life. The SILAÏ collection is a contemporary reinterpretation of the petit point embroidery technique that uses a plastic grid and simple and quick stitches to create colorful and cozy interiors. The collection, awarded the Red Dot in 2016, perfectly echoes the energy and the contemporary spirit of GAN.
What a better place to showcase the newest GAN collections than San Francisco: a city of beatniks, hip crowds and young entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley, where innovation, freedom and creativity is evident in every corner.
