For another year we at GANDIABLASCO are searching out creativity and emerging talent from all around the world.
The 11th edition of the International Exterior Furniture Design Contest was conceived for this reason, to give a voice to the talent of younger generations between 18 and 35 years of age. In order to spread the word, this year the awards ceremony was celebrated at the company stand at the Salone del Mobile in Milan last Wednesday April 5th at 3.30 pm.
Among those attending were: friends, clients, the press and the Masters students of Architecture and Design currently being taught by Fran Silvestre with whom we collaborate because of our shared affinity.
The theme this year was to design an outdoor kitchen space. Despite the inherent complications of the subject matter we received more than 300 projects from 40 different countries, from Australia to Argentina over the five continents.
With each edition we invite along personalities, and sometime friends from the world o culture who stand out in their professional fields whether it be architecture, design or art, advertising or the world of gastronomy …
Last March we had the pleasure of welcoming the members of this year’s jury for the 11th edition of the contest to La casa GANDIABLASCO:
José Gandía-Blasco, President and Creative Director of GANDIABLASCO SA
Sergio Pastor, Director General of GANDIABLASCO SA
Quique Dacosta, head creative of Quique Dacosta
Andrés Rodríguez, President and Director of Spainmedia
Anita Calero, professional photographer
Marià Castelló, architec and founder of Marià Castelló Architects
A very interesting encounter between people of different profiles, who share a common interest in design culture, communication and art, whatever the expression may be.
During the visit they carefully reviewed the more than 300 projects received. The anecdotes and the laughter started to emerge from around 2 in the afternoon when lunch was being served featuring local produce that was served in the wine cellar of La casa GANDIABLASCO, prepared by a former student of the Quique Dacosta de school of gastronomy, Jordi of the Bar Llámame Lola in Onteniente.
After the difficult but nonetheless fun deliberation the jury decided on the awarding the following projects:
1st Prize: CAMADO by Spanish entrant Bruno Peral Bey
2nd Prize: LEVITATE from the Brazilian entrant now residing in Valencia Luiz Eduardo Lupatini
Special Mention: SAFARI from Spanish entrant Miguel Reguero Arboleya
Congratulations to the award winners and to all of those creatives who took the trouble to enter our 11th International Outdoor Furniture Design Contest.
We hope to surprise and inspire you all to take part in the upcoming 12th edition.
